Union Campaigns

The second victory of this year was for St. Dominic’s Home in Rockland and Orange County. The vote took place on February 2, 2006. The workers are residential counselors in the Agency’s Developmental Disabilities department and they provide direct care for individuals in the Agency’s many group homes. Local 888 has a contract in the Bronx with the DD workers and many members assisted the organizing team in helping speak out to the Rockland and Orange County workers by phone banking, making home visits and helping make a final vote YES flyer. The organizing team would like to thank all our members who help to make this campaign a victory. The St. Dominic’s workers in August settled with their employer by ratifying a three year agreement.
